Getting Started

Our program is designed for children in Kindergarten to Year 6.

Teacha supports all children who are not reading at expected levels, including those with learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, or other challenges. We focus on building reading skills, confidence, and independence.

We offer a free Discovery Call to answer your questions, understand your child’s needs, and explain how Teacha can support their reading development.

Yes. After the Discovery Call, your child will have a 60-minute literacy assessment to identify their strengths and areas for growth.

Yes. If spots are available, your child can begin immediately.

Yes. Our team consists of qualified teachers specialising in evidence-based literacy instruction.

Reading Program Overview

Teacha is a term-based program, and sessions are reserved for your child each week.

The reading program runs over NSW DET school terms, with weekly 45-minute sessions delivered in-clinic or in-school.

Yes. Students enrol for all sessions in the term, ensuring consistent, structured learning and measurable progress.

Teacha does not follow individual school calendars.

Our sessions run within NSW Department of Education (NSW DET) terms, from Monday of Week 1 to Friday of the final week, to ensure consistent scheduling for families, schools, and staff.

Yes. Enrolments roll over automatically from term to term to ensure continuity of learning.

We use Multisensory Structured Language (MSL), an evidence-based approach that teaches reading in a structured, sequential, and multisensory way, helping children build strong, lasting skills.

Yes. Most children attend one or two sessions per week, depending on their needs.

Yes. Children are reassessed every two full terms, with a detailed progress report provided to parents.

We require two weeks’ written notice to unenroll your child, allowing another student to take the place.

Parent Support

At Teacha, parents are welcome to stay during sessions or pick up afterward.
At Teacha, we believe parents play an important role in their child’s reading journey. We provide home reading resources and offer optional Zoom support to answer questions and guide you in using the materials to help you confidently reinforce learning at home.
No. Teacha works with all children who are not reading at expected levels, including those with or without formal diagnoses.

Cancellation Policy

To help sessions run smoothly, please take note of the following:

  • Planned Absences
At least 7 days’ notice is required for planned absences, such as school camps or holidays. Sessions will be rescheduled (not cancelled), and normal cancellation policies apply. If no suitable time is available during the term, sessions may be scheduled in the first week of the school holidays, subject to availability.
  • Unplanned Absences / Illness
If your child is unwell or unable to attend, one catch-up session per term will be offered. The session will be charged as usual, and the catch-up will be rescheduled during the term where possible, or in the first week of the school holidays, subject to availability.
  • Late or No Cancellation
Sessions not cancelled in advance will incur the full session fee.
  • Additional Missed Sessions
If sessions are missed beyond the catch-up allowance, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule; however, this cannot be guaranteed.

It is the responsibility of the parent or carer to organise cancellations, rescheduling, and communication with Teacha.

We are also able to provide our sessions via Zoom. So if you can’t make it into the clinic or school, we can move the session to zoom.

If you wish to withdraw your child, we require two weeks’ written notice prior to the end of the term. This allows us to manage therapist availability and offer places to families on the waiting list.
If your child’s therapist is unwell, we will contact you by text message or phone call from 7:00am to notify you of the cancellation. You will then be contacted to reschedule the session, and no payment will be taken for the cancelled session.

Payments & NDIS Funding

Pricing depends on your child’s needs and frequency of sessions. Please contact us for details.

If an account falls more than two weeks behind in payments, sessions may be paused. While sessions can resume once payments are up to date, availability cannot be guaranteed due to waitlists.

Yes. Teacha supports both self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.

In-School Sessions

School routines can vary at the beginning and end of the year, making in-school delivery unpredictable. For this reason, the first and last week of the school year are delivered in-clinic or via Zoom. From Week 2 onward, in-school sessions run as normal.

Parents are responsible for organising and confirming in-school access with their child’s school. Teacha will provide the required paperwork; however, parents must follow this up and ensure approvals are in place. If access has not been confirmed by Week 2, sessions will continue in-clinic or via Zoom until arrangements are finalised.

The process generally involves:

  • Parents requesting school approval for Teacha to attend as an external provider delivering specialised literacy intervention
  • Parents signing any required consent or access forms and providing Teacha’s contact details
  • The school emailing Teacha any required documentation
  • Teacha completing and returning the documentation
  • Where possible, Teacha liaising with school staff to organise a suitable session time

While Teacha supports this process, parents are responsible for progressing approvals and following up with the school.

Yes. Parents are asked to notify Teacha of any differences in school start or end dates that may affect in-school sessions. Where possible, at least 7 days’ notice helps us plan and support families smoothly
